Dough House Information

I’m Mariah, mom of 2 and owner of The Dough House. We currently have our Magical Dough jars in over 500 toy stores across the US, and have a storefront called The Dough House in Brentwood, California. In January of 2020, I quit my job of 9 years, and was all set to open up an indoor play space called The Playhouse. Plans were put on hold due to the pandemic and I was left with no job and 2 kids at home to entertain. I began making & posting sensory bins and opened an online toy store on my Playhouse page.

Sensory play progressed as time went on. Pulling from my chef background, I developed a soft and squishy dough recipe and came up with “Magical Jars”, a new and unique way to pair dough, toys and trinkets all in 1 jar. I started selling Magical Jars in June of 2020 from my kitchen. I would deliver jars all over town, sold them at farmers markets and a few local stores. When The Playhouse opened in May of 2021, I sold the jars there and still do. Our jars were something new and unique, and wildly popular! We now see this style of jar from hundreds of talented makers worldwide!
